| What We Do As an equestrian volunteer service organization, we promote the protection, development and maintenance of multi-use trails through service to land managers, education, and trail advocacy. Idaho's horsemen and women are devoted to preserving the rich heritage and contribution that horses and mules have made to the history and development of Idaho through keeping trails open to horses and mules. Through education SBCH promotes the seven principles of Leave No Trace and stresses trail etiquette and safety. The purpose of this organization is:
- To perpetuate the common sense use and enjoyment of horses in America's back country and wilderness.
- To work to insure that public lands remain open to recreational stock use.
- To assist the various government and private agencies in their maintenance and management of said resource.
- To educate, encourage and solicit active participation in the wise use of the back country resource by horsemen and the general public commensurate with our heritage.
- To foster and encourage the formation of new state organizations and BCHA.
